Smoke detectors have been installed in the restrooms, and if activated this may cause serious problems, including a return to the departure airport or an emergency landing at the nearest airport. Smoking is prohibited in all aircrafts.
Under the Law, violations including "smoking in the lavatory" may result in the levy of a penalty of up to ¥500,000 against any offender who continues or repeats these actions after being asked to cease by the captain.
Use of Any Type of Electronic Cigarettes, Heated Tobacco and Smokeless Tobacco are prohibited.
Flameless smoking devices such as electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco and smokeless tobacco are prohibited, as their use on board may disturb other passengers or cause misunderstandings or anxiety.
